Clarity is based on a scale of 6 categories, which are Flawless (FL), Internally Flawless (IF), Very, Very Slightly Included (VVS1 and VVS2) Inclusions, Very Slightly Included (VS1 and VS2), Slightly Included (SI1 and SI2), and Included (I1, I2, and I3).

Choosing a diamond without any visible imperfections will be important, as some diamond shapes show inclusions and blemishes more easily than others.

Carat Weight

The final ’C? in the 4 C’s of diamonds is the carat weight; in other words, the weight of the diamond. In metric terms, a carat is defined as 200 milligrams that is subdivided into 100 ’points? for the most precise measurements to the hundredth decimal place.
